Jones, Bob R.
SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Bob R. Jones, 80, of Sedgewickville passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Sedgewickville, son of Wilbert Dewey and Mary Blanche Grindstaff Jones. He and Leanna Limbaugh were married Feb. 1, 1953, in Overland, Mo.
Bob was a farmer, hauled lime, and did dozer work all of his life. He was a charter member and past president of Patton Lions Club and a member of Patton Methodist Church.
He served his country proudly from March 31, 1953, to April 1, 1955, in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Leanna of Sedgewickville; four sons, Eddie Jones of Jackson, Mike Jones of Silex, Mo., Gary Jones of Perryville, Mo., Mark Jones of Sedgewickville; a daughter, Carol Yamnitz of Patton; two brothers, Danny D. Jones of Winder, Ga., Joe H. Jones of Patton; two sisters, Nancy Anderson of Hillsboro, Mo., Debbie Hillis of Jackson; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Teddy Jones; two sisters, Bonnie Cook and Thelma Jones; and a granddaughter, Stacy Jones.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronald Davis officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery near Sedgewickville, with full military rights by Missouri Military Honors Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Patton Lions Club.
