Jordon, Albert T.

Albert T. Jordon, 76, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born June 25, 1936, in rural Cape Girardeau County, to Trentis E. “Jack” and Lydia C. Muster Jordon. He and Sylvia “Bea” Moore were married March 28, 1969. They had been married 41 years when she passed away June 25, 2010.

Albert honorably served in the U.S. Army from July 11, 1957 to July 10, 1959. He was a tank driver and was awarded the Sharpshooter (Pistol) Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. He then worked many years at the former Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau.

Albert thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. In his spare time, he liked to fish and work in his many flower beds.

Loving survivors include a son, Jim Crites (Rick Hartle) of Jackson; a daughter, Shelley (James) Peikert of Des Arc, Mo.; five grandchildren, Tyla, Shawna, Emily, Sarah, Levi; four great-grandchildren, Ronnie, Layla, Caleb, and Shawn.

Also surviving are nine siblings, Charles (Faye) Jordon of Marble Hill, James Jordon of Fairfield, Penn., Willard (Monique) Jordon of Farmington, Ct., Walter (Grace) Jordon of Kansas City, Mo., Paul (Debbie) Jordon of Monahan, Tex, Edna Prokop of Fayetteville, Ark., Wanda (Warren) Batson of Hempstead, NC, Joyce (John) Baugh of Brandon, Fla., Mary Hartis of Dutchtown, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley (Allen) Houston of Marble Hill, Mo.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Moore.

Friends may call Tuesday, October 23, from 4 to 8 PM, at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 24, at 1 PM, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating.

Interment will follow in New Trace Creek Cemetery near Glen Allen with graveside military honors.

Memorials make take the form of contributions to New Trace Cemetery or to the family, as they plan to establish a living memorial.
