King, Parker J.

Parker J. King gained his angel wings Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Parker, 10, of Jackson sustained injuries in a UTV accident Friday, December 21, 2012, and was a patient at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

He was born July 10, 2002, in Cape Girardeau to James C. and Robin Reisenbichler King. He was baptized August 11, 2002, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and was a lifelong student of St. Paul Lutheran School.

The traveling athletics Parker participated in included the Jackson Jackhammers Baseball Team; Jackson Jr. Indians Football Team; and the Jackson USA Wrestling Program. Other athletics included the JAYF Football Program and St. Paul Church League Basketball.

While Parker was a true athlete, he also was an avid outdoorsman with a special passion for hard work, especially lawn mowing. His ultimate goal in life was to move to the country and become a farmer.

Loving survivors include his parents, James and Robin King, and a brother, Andrew “Drew” King, all of Jackson; paternal grandparents, Bill and Sue King of Jackson; maternal grandmother, Paula Reisenbichler of Jackson and friend, Dwain Manche of Altenburg, Mo.; paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Gerecke of Jackson; uncles and aunts, Billy (Sheila) King, Kevin King, Cheryl Farrow and Sheila (Marvin) Beussink, all of Jackson; 11 cousins, Kayla, Kasey, Connor, Kami, Karson, Hannah, Addison, Seth, Jacob, Braelynn and Owen; and countless special friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David Reisenbichler and maternal uncle, Ron Farrow.

The King and Reisenbichler families have grateful hearts for the outpouring of support received from the community. Your continued prayers are cherished.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today in the “old gym” on the Jackson Senior High School Campus in Jackson. Visitors should enter through the original front doors on the south side of the building.

A contemporary funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, with the Revs. David Johnson and Robert Henrichs officiating.

Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Parker King Memorial Fund, c/o The Bank of Missouri, or St. Paul Lutheran School.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is handling Parker’s arrangements.
