A funeral will be held Monday, February 20th, 2006 for 84-year-old Edwin L. "Eddie" Kirn who died Thursday, February 16th at the Perry County Nursing Home.
He was born July 16, 1921 in Friedheim, the son of Andrew Kirn and Elizabeth (Renner) Kirn, who both preceded him in death.
He married Marcella C. Halter on October 21st, 1947 in Apple Creek. She survives in Perryville.
He is also survived by four daughters and sons in law: Carol and Ray Ziegler of Ste. Genevieve, Janet and Roger Etzold of Perryville, Norma and Tim Buerck of Perryville and Mary Jane and Duane Berkbuegler of Perryville; two sons and a daughter in law: Richard and Yvonne Kirn of Perryville and Bernard Kirn of Perryville; a sister: Lucille Wibbenmeyer of Perryville; and eight grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Melvin Kirn; a sister, Regina Lappe and a brother, Rudy Kirn.
He worked for Gilster Marylee and the Frohna Machine Shop for 14 years. He was U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday, February 19th and 6:30-9:50 a.m. Monday, February 20th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. There will be a parish wake Sunday evening. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A funeral mass for 84-year-old Edwin L. "Eddie" Kirn of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 20th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Kevin Fausz C.M. will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Maurus Cemetery in Biehle with military graveside honors by the American Legion Post No. 133.
Memorials may be sent to the St. Vincent Parish, St. Maurus Parish or Southeast Hospice.
