A funeral will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 for 73-year-old Marvin J. Kline of Perryville who died April 6, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 22, 1939 in Perry County, the son of George and Laverne (Rayoum) Kline.

He married Rose Shepard on February 10, 1986. She survives in Perryville.

He is survived by a son and a daughter in law: Logan D. and Stephanie Kline of Annapolis; four sisters and two brothers; Venita Weinkein of Highland, Lucille Valleroy and Dorothy Hendrix both of Perryville, Stella Lindsey of St. Peters, Glennon Kline of St. Mary and Melvin Kline of Perryville; a granddaughter: Lily Kline and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a baby brother: Stanley and two baby sisters: Martha and Doris.

After service he worked for 10 years for the Chevy plant in St. Louis, then he worked at the Mississippi Lime Company in Ste. Genevieve for 29 years and four months until he became disabled in 1999 because of losing his eyesight.

He was a member of the UAW and the Laborers Union while working. He was a supporter of the Democratic Party. He is a US Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

His favorite things were fishing and talking about old times.

He loved listening to classic country and gospel music.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 and 6:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 73-year-old Marvin J. Kline of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Young and Sons Funeral. The Rev. Pastor Edd Sterchi will officiate.

Burial will be in the Home Cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion and Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred for family use.
