Koehler, Amy Jo

Amy Jo Koehler, 29, of Friedheim passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, in an auto accident near Friedheim.

She was born Jan. 3, 1983, in Cape Girardeau, to Melbourne "Mel" and Laura Bollinger Koehler. She attended Jackson High School and later earned her GED. She was a receptionist for Cape County Social Services Case Management in Jackson. She also assisted her father in his fuel discount business from her home.

Amy was a member of First Baptist Church in Millersville, but was active in Plainview Congregational Methodist Church, serving as a Bible school teacher and preparing the weekly bulletins. She enjoyed volunteering at Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship north of Oak Ridge.

Loving survivors include her mother and stepfather, Laura and David Long of Friedheim; her father, Mel Koehler (Diane Adams) of Chickamauga, Ga.; a brother, Josh (Debbie) Koehler and their children of Suwanee, Ga.; five stepsisters, Tia Long of Rochester, N.Y., Hannah and Hali Long of St. Charles, Mo., Kimberly Going of Cape Girardeau, Katherine Vaughn of Norcross, Ga.; and a stepbrother, Rick Varner of Locust Grove, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lee and Modean Bollinger; and paternal grandparents, Mel and Berneice Koehler.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Webb officiating.

Interment will be private.
