Koehler, Henry Clement, Jr.
Funeral services for Henry (Clem) Koehler of Jackson were held at 10a.m.,
March 13, 1989 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson by the Rev. Stephen
Schneider. Burial was in Russelll Heights Cemetery with arrangements by McCombs Funeral
Home in Jackson. Graveside rites were conducted by the VFW Post, Cape Girardeau. An
American Legion Honor Guard service was held by the Altenthal-Joerns Post 158 of Jackson
at 4 p.m., March 12 at the funeral chapel with Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. and the Rosary at
7:30 p.m.
Mr. Koehler, 73, died March 10, 1989 at Centre, Ala. while on a fishing trip. He was born
Sept. 5, 1915 in Jackson, a son of Henry Clement and Mary Belle Baugh Koehler. On Jan. 7,
1941, he was married to Dora Schaefer, who survives.
Mr. Koehler was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army. He was employed by
the former Lewis and Ladreiter Mobil Station in Jackson from 1945 to 1977 when he retired.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, American Legion Altenthal-Joerns
Post 158, VFW Post and SEMO Slabber Crappie Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Kenneth Koehler, Thomas Koehler and
Roger Koehler, all of Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Cotner of Waterloo, Iowa;
Phyllis Dunn of Lithia Springs, Ga., and Diane Johnson of Jackson; three brothers,
Lawrence Koehler of Whitewater, and Paul Koehler and Charles Koehler, both of Cape
Girardeau; four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Smith, Mrs. George Vinyard, Mrs. John Horrell, and
Mrs. Opal Laurentius, all of Jackson; and 22 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a
brother and two sisters.
