Koenig, Elmer C.

Elmer C. Koenig, 73, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at his home.

He was born Jan. 20, 1930, at New Wells, son of Ernest and Erna Gerler Koenig. He and Helenmarie Tuschhoff were married Sept. 5, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.

Elmer was baptized Feb. 2, 1930, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, attended school at Immanuel Lutheran, and was confirmed April 18, 1943, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Elmer and Helenmarie became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson in 1958.

He farmed at New Wells, and in 1957 moved to Jackson and started working for Guth Bros. Block and Brick Co., which later became Stovall Block and Brick Co. and Heartland Block and Brick Co. He worked there until 1990. He later worked at Jackson City Park, retiring in 1998.

Loving survivors include his wife, Helenmarie; three brothers-in-law and wives, Harold and Kay Tuschhoff of Jackson, Harlan and Marie Tuschhoff of Sedgewickville, Mo., and Hilbert and Aileen Tuschhoff of Scott City.

Also surviving are two nieces, Cheryl Renne and husband Mark, and Donna Tuschhoff, all of St. Louis; two nephews, Dan Tuschhoff and wife Kathy, Tim Tuschhoff and wife Bev, all of Jackson; three great-nieces and four great-nephews, Nikki and Tyler Tuschhoff, Heather and Jessica Tuschhoff, and Kyle, Eric and Logan Renne.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and Friday after 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran Radio Broadcast.
