PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marvin E. "Red" Koenig, 77, of Perryville died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 for 77-year-old Marvin E. "Red" Koenig of Perryville, who died April15, 2012 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

He was born November 18, 1934 in Farrar, the son of John and Amanda (Lorenz) Koenig who both preceded him in death.

He married Eunice F. Steffens on June 17, 1956. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2012.

He is survived by four sons: Russ (Mary) Koenig of Perryville, Randy (Kathy) Koenig of Newburgh, Indiana, Darrell (Sandra) Koenig of Cape Girardeau and Lynn (Dana) Koenig of Perryville; two daughters: Sharon (Phil) Bruckerhoff of Perryville and Jan Emmendorfer of High Ridge; three brothers: Rueben Koenig of California, Willis Koenig of Arnold and Larry Koenig of Perryville; two sisters: Jane Short of Perryville and Viola Guemmer of Perryville; 19 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son: Kenneth; three brothers: Welmar, Oliver and Glennon "Pete" Koenig; and two sisters: Frances Koenig and Evelyn Zahner.

He was a carpenter for Kiefner Brothers Construction. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Perry County Sportsman's Club.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17th and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 18th at the Young & Sons Funeral Home.
