A funeral will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 for 84-year-old Oliver E. Koenig of Perryville who died November 5, 2011 at Perry Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Perryville.
He was born September 12, 1927 in Seventy-Six, the son of John and Amanda (Lorenz) Koenig who both preceded him in death.
He married Jean P. Bangert on November 10, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2002.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
He is survived by two sons: Richard Koenig of Florence, Kentucky and Dennis Koenig of Perryville; four brothers; two sisters; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, and three sisters.
Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 and 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral for 84-year-old Oliver E. Koenig of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Young & Sons Chapel. The Rev. Thomas Handrick will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School Tuition Fund or Parkinson Research.
