Koenig, Viona Maria (nee Mirly)
A funeral was held today, April 17th, 2006 for 78-year-old Viona M. Koenig of Uniontown, who died Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 11th, 1927 in New Wells, the daughter of Martin and Phoebe (Winter) Mirly who both preceded her in death.
She married Herbert E. Koenig on April 15th, 1951. He survives in Uniontown.
She is also survived by a son and daughter in law, Randy and Ann Koenig of Perryville and two daughters and sons in law, Carol and Larry Detjen of Lexington, Kentucky and Christine and Terry Lee of Uniontown; two brothers and sisters in law, Vernon "Butch" and LaVerne Mirly of Monrovia, California and Leonard and Dorothy Mirly of Kirkwood; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Elton Mirly and a grandson, Jeremy Koenig.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
A funeral for 78-year-old Viona M. Koenig of Uniontown was held today, April 17th. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Matthew Marks will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society or to Immanuel Lutheran School.
