Kraemer, Hilbert H. "Hib"

Hilbert Henry "Hib" Kraemer, 96, of St. Charles, Missouri, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the family home.

He was born May 5, 1918, in the Hanover community of Cape Girardeau County. He and Gladys Nussbaum were married Feb. 3, 1942.

They lived and farmed in the Burfordville area before moving to St. Louis, and then to St. Charles in the late 1950s.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys of the home; a son, Michael (Pamela) Kraemer of St. Charles; two daughters, Joyce Horky (Ken) Moore of Burfordville and Brenda (James) Haar of Maryland Heights, Missouri; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

The funeral was Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles.

Hilbert H. “Hib” Kraemer of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the age of 96. Beloved husband of Gladys N. Kraemer; cherished son of the late Henry S. and Anna S. Kraemer; devoted father of Michael (Pamela) Kraemer, Joyce Horky (Ken) Moore, and Brenda (James) Haar; loving grandfather of four; treasured great-grandfather of seven. He was preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Kraemer. Hib was also a loving brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many.

Hib was an elder for four years at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed singing in the church choir. Hib was also active in the 4-H club and Civilian Conservation Corps. He farmed for over twenty years in Cape County prior to moving to St. Charles going to work for American Fixtures and then McDonnell Douglas. He loved fishing, hunting, and tinkering. He most of all loved his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.
