LaNier, Robert F.

Sept. 18, 1923 - June 1, 2003

Robert F. LaNier, 79, of Port Clinton, died Sunday at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

He was born in Plasterbed, [Gypsum] to Edward and Jennie (Stetler) LaNier.  On Jan. 18, 1944, in Port Clinton, he married Elizabeth A. (Wright) and she
survives.

Mr. LaNier graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1941. He worked for the Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton for 25 years and for Quick Stir in Port
Clinton for six years. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 113 of Port Clinton,
National VFW Post No. 14,000, Ottawa County Bowman's Archery Club, Plaids & Calicos Square Dance Club, and various round dance clubs. He also enjoyed woodcarving, fishing, making knives and crafts.

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth "Betty" LaNier; daughters Cheryl A. (Harry A. Jr.) Myers of Port Clinton and Roxanne (Randy) Hall of Bellevue;
grandchildren Cassandra Irick, Leandra Eitel, Harry Robert Myers Sr., Rachele A. Studer, George W. Pridemore Jr.; great-grandchildren Kira Irick,
Duncan and Connor Eitel, Harry R. Myers Jr., Bryanna Myers, Jenna Linkenbach, Cody, Jamison, Bryce and Kaden Pridemore; brother Carl E. (Mary
Lou) LaNier of Findlay; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold and Norman LaNier.

Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gerner-Wolf-Brossia-Marsh Funeral Home, Port Clinton, Ohio,
43452.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Interment: Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton. The Homer D. Gardner VFW Post No. 2480 of Port Clinton will conduct military graveside services.

Memorials: Stein Hospice or Catawba Island Rescue.
