Laws, Leola S. (nee Miget)
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Leola S. Laws, 97, of Perryville died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 18, 1916, in Perryville, daughter of Leo C. and Alice Alberta Hager Miget. She and Stanley J. Laws were married Oct. 10, 1942. He preceded her in death July 13, 1993.
Leola was a co-owner of Airpark Restaurant in Mexico, Missouri. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was an avid reader of books and books on tape.
Survivors include four children, Doug (Linda) Laws and Jeanne (Gary) Romann of Perryville, Keith (Sherryl) Laws of Harrisburg, Missouri, and Kevin Laws (Dr. Fred Creech) of Cape Coral, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Truman of Redondo Beach, California, and Joan Miget of Perryville; a brother-in-law, Edward "Eddie" Young Jr. of Perryville; seven grandchildren, Jackie (Mike) Dalman of Wentzville, Missouri, Dr. Christopher Romann of Wellington, New Zealand, Tasha (Ray) Burnam of Cadiz, Kentucky, Aaron (Jean) Laws of Ballwin, Missouri, Greg (Rita) Laws of St. Peters, Missouri, Julie (Darren) Davis and Tim (Heather) Laws of Columbia, Missouri; 10 great-grandchildren, Jillian and Will Dalman of Wentzville, Aimee and Jacob Laws of Ballwin, Tori and Tyler Pratt of Cadiz, Mary Catherine Laws of St. Peters, and Carter, Carson and Rose Byrum of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson, Scott Laws; five sisters, Luella Miget, Velda Gagnepain, Ruby Meyer, Marguerite "Pete" Young and Lily Meyer; and a brother, Leo "Bud" Miget.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to service time Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Richard Wehrmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Perryville Library or St. Vincent School.
Young and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
