Linebarger, Rose Etta (nee Wissmann)

Rose Wissmann Linebarger, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 13, 1911, in Oriole, Mo., daughter of John David and Ethel (Perry) Wissmann. She and Walter Howard Linebarger were married April 25, 1931, in Jackson. He died March 2, 1974. Later she married Orlie N. Grubb on Aug. 13, 1988, in Jackson. He died June 11, 1998.

Linebarger was a member of St. Mary Cathedral and former member of Third Street United Methodist Church and former member of United Methodist Women Member of VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary.

She was active in the Reach for Recovery Program and in the Democratic Party.

She is survived by three daughters, Joyce L. Nussbaum of Meadowlakes, Texas; Dolores M. Gerhardt of Cape Girar­deau and Nancy J. Stone of Farmington, Mo.; and one son, Howard J. Linebarger of Cape Girardeau. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three grandsons, two great-grandchildren, five sisters and six brothers.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Parish prayers at 7 p.m.

Graveside service and burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
