Loenneke, Joe Eldon
SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Joe Eldon Loenneke, 72, of Sedgewickville passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at his home.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Boettcher will officiate. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson, with a military honors service.
Joe was born April 3, 1930, at Tilsit, Mo., son of Joseph and Bertha Aufdenberg Loenneke. He and Zelma McClard were married March 14, 1952.
Loving survivors include his wife; three daughters, Shirley McRoberts and husband Clyde of Pocahontas, Ark., Debra Graham and Charles Turnbow of Jackson, Carol Haley and husband Mike of Sedgewickville; two brothers, Carl and Walter Loennecke of Jackson; and a sister, Elda Kieninger of Jackson.
Surviving grandchildren are Jaime Fry of Bloomfield, Mo., Eric and Brian Graham of Jackson, Bobby Hankins of Pocahontas, Ark., Luke and Michaela Haley of Sedgewickville, Kristin Kent of Cape Girardeau, Lisa Grissom and Matt McRoberts of Bloomfield, Deanna O'Dell of Spokane, Wash.; and five great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two dear children raised by Joe and Zelma, Kathy Borgfield and husband David of Millersville, Mo., Donna Craft and husband Doug of Sedgewickville; and several beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He worked at Meier Angus Farms near Jackson from 1945 to 1984. He and Zelma then moved to Charleston where he worked for Bob Jackson Farms. They moved to Sedgewickville in April 2000.
Joe was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Tilsit. He played dart ball many years on the St. Paul Lutheran Dart Ball Team. He was also a member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Immanuel Youth group, SEMO Cattlemen's Scholarship Fund, American Cancer Society, or Southeast Missouri State University Foundation.
