Logsdon, John R.

John R. Logsdon, 55, of Festus, Mo., died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at his home.

He was born April 29, 1950, in St. Louis, son of Robert and Helen Underwood Moore.

Logsdon was maintenance director at Festus Housing Authority. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Festus.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include two daughters, Misty Lukefahr of Perryville, Mo., Laura Logsdon of Naperville, Ill.; two sons, Christopher and Michael Logsdon of Cape Girardeau; fiancee, Sharon Pickard of Festus; two stepchildren, Rachel and Randall Pickard of Festus; his mother of Villa Rica, Ga.; two brothers, Robert Moore of Mason, Ill., Richard Moore of Effingham, Ill.; two sisters, Debbie Schremp of Perryville, Laura Grantham of Villa Rica; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to service time today.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Leonard Himes officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 4282.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, March 28th, 2006 for 55-year-old John R. Logsdon of Festus, who died Sunday, March 26th at his residence.

He was born April 29th, 1950 in St. Louis, the son of the late Robert Moore and Helen (Underwood) Moore, who survives in Villarica, Georgia.

He is also survived by his fiancée, Sharon Pickard of Festus; two daughters and a son in law, Misty and Jerry Lukefahr of Perryville and Laura Logsdon of Naperville, Illinois; two sons, Christopher Logsdon and Michael Logsdon, both of Cape Girardeau; two stepchildren, Rachel and Randal Pickard, both of Festus; two brothers, Robert Moore of Mason, Illinois and Richard Moore of Effingham, Illinois; two sisters and a brother in law, Debbie and Ronald Schremp of Perryville and Laura Grantham of Villarica, Georgia; and nine grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Anthony.

He was the maintenance director at the Festus Housing Authority.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Festus, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a college graduate.

Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 28th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 28th, 2006 for 55-year-old John R. Logsdon of Festus at the Young and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville. The Rev. Leonard Himes will officiate.

Military burial honors will be provided by VFW Post 4278.

Memorials may be made to the family.
