MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Dennis Wayne "Den" Long Sr., 60, of Marble Hill died at his home Monday, May 18, 2015. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Dennis W. Long, Sr., 60, of Marble Hill, Mo., died Monday, May 18, 2015, at his home. Born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Feb. 18, 1955, he was the son of Charles Winford and Bonnie Jane Welker Long. He married Penny Lukefahr on Dec. 24, 1999. She survives.
Long was employed by B & B Timber as a loader for many years. He was also a guitar player for the Southern Fire Band, and was a member of the local Eagles Lodge.
Besides his wife he is survived by his father, Charles Winford Long, a son, Dennis (Lori) Long, Jr.; two step-daughters: Dianna Boyer and Leanna Boyer; two sisters: Pam Boyer of Grassy, Mo., and Tammy Broshuis of Marble Hill; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Pulliam Cemetery near Patton.
