Luckey, Richard "Dick" B.

BRAZEAU, Mo. — Richard B. "Dick" Luckey, 77, of Brazeau died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

He was born Oct. 20, 1931, at Fredericktown, Mo., son of Beverly T. and Eula M. Whitener Luckey. He and Matilda V. "Tillie" Kranawetter were married Jan. 14, 1956.

Luckey was a farmer, licensed barber, and shop foreman mechanic/heavy equipment operator, river boat pilot, truck driver and surveyor at East Perry Lumber Co.

He was a member of Brazeau Presbyterian Church, VFW and American Legion, treasurer of Brazeau Presbyterian Cemetery Association, church elder, and made more than 15,000 angel pins that he distributed in the United States and abroad.

Luckey was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kirk Luckey of Brazeau, Kent Luckey of Altenburg, Mo.; a daughter, Kay Welker of Altenburg; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, Mo. The American Legion wake will be at 7 tonight.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Brazeau Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bruce Owen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites provided by the American Legion and the Delta Team.
