Lukefahr, Martha L. (nee Schrumpf)

A funeral will be held Wednesday, September 20th, for 89-year-old Martha L. Lukefahr of Highland, who died Sunday, September 17th at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 16th, 1910 in Old Appleton, the daughter of Henry and Rosella (Ross) Schrumpf who both preceded in death.

She married Clarence J. Lukefahr on October 26th, 1940. He preceded in death.

She is survived by five sons: George J. Lukefahr and Steve C. Lukefahr, both of Perryville; Paul T. Lukefahr and Pete J. Lukefahr, both of Highland; and Ray H. Lukefahr of Centralia, Illinois.

Two daughters also survive her: Rose H. Lappe of Perryville and Charlotte A. Miget of Highland.

One brother also survives: Walter Schrumpf of Perryville.

Thirteen grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren also survive.

Six brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland, Ladies Sodality and TOPS.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19th from 4-9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 20th from 6:30-8:55 a.m. at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 19th, at the funeral home.

A funeral for 89-year-old Martha L. Lukefahr of Highland will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 20th at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Robert Brockland will officiate.

Memorials may be made to masses or to pro life.
