Mayfield, Margaret Ann (nee Clippard)

Margaret Ann Mayfield, 79, of Jackson, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born June 14, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Edgar and Cecil Helton Clippard. She and Clarence A. Mayfield were married April 2, 1977 in Jackson.

She and Clarence had resided in Cape Girardeau for 30 years prior to entering the Monticello House in September of 2011. Margaret Ann Mayfield held her family dear to her heart and was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

Loving survivors include her husband; a son, Ray (Lola) Bowen of Blytheville, AR; two daughters, Cathy (Jack) Connell of Cape Girardeau, Barbara (Bill) Kempen of St. Roberts, MO; two step-sons, Greg (Mary Ann) Mayfield of Jackson, Jeff Mayfield of Jackson; two step-daughters, Carla (Kurt) Lafaire of Marble Hill, MO, Karen Wachter of Bloomfield, MO; two sisters, Ruth Ann Turner of Alaska, Shirley Clippard of Jackson; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Dale Clippard, in whose honor the Lloyd Dale Clippard VFW Post #3838 in Cape Girardeau was named.

Friends may call Thursday, October 13, 2011 from noon until service time at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be Thursday, at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Zack Strong officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Southeast Missouri Food Bank.
