McCanless, Terry Wayne
Terry Wayne McCanless, 60, of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 11, 1954, in Salina, Kansas, to Charles F. and Eulalia Volz McCanless. He and Melodee Sherree Scott were married Feb. 29, 1984, in Orlando, Florida. They had been married 27 years when Melodee passed away Aug. 25, 2011.
Terry's family lived in Orlando until moving to Oak Ridge in 2002. He was employed at Strickland Engineering in Jackson and attended Caney Fork Baptist Church near Oak Ridge.
When their sons were young, Terry and Melodee were Boy Scout troop leaders. Terry enjoyed family and friends, and had the gift of storytelling. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Loving survivors include two sons, Aaron Lee (Rosie) McCanless and twin daughters Harlow and Nevelyn of Orlando, and Jolani McCanless of Orlando; two sisters, Suzette (Wes) Lutton of Elsinore, Missouri, and Janette (Rick) McIntyre of Daisy; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will celebrate Terry's life with a graveside memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Caney Fork Baptist Cemetery near Oak Ridge, with the Rev. Tommy McCanless officiating.
Cremation accorded by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
