McCullough, Frances Elizabeth (nee Schumer)
A funeral will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 for 98-year-old Frances E. (Schumer) McCullough formerly of Fairview Heights, Illinois, who died Sunday, March 23, 2014 in Perryville.
She was the daughter of Herman and Mary Elona (Moore) Schumer who both preceded her in death.
She married Walter E. McCullough. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter: Patricia A. Eversman of Collinsville, Illinois; two sons: Walter E. (Karen) McCullough of Perryville and Jerry (Debbie) McCullough of Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters: Leona Richardet, Evelyn Sauer and Edna Biri; four half-brothers: Dennis Schumer, Edward Schumer, and Lawrence Schumer, all of Perryville and Leonard Schumer of St. Mary.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and eight sisters.
She was the second oldest of 20 children in her family.
She was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caseyville, Illinois. She enjoyed singing with the St. Stephen choir for more than 50 years.
She was a charter member of St. Anne’s Altar Society and was an avid quilter for St. Anne’s for more than 50 years.
She loved working in her flower garden and watching the birds.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.
Visitation will also be 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Stephen Catholic Church, 901 South Main Street, Caseyville, Illinois.
A mass of Christian burial for 98-year-old Frances E. (Schumer) McCullough, formerly of Fairview Heights, Illinois will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Stephen Catholic Church, 901 South Main Street, Caseyville, Illinois.
Burial will be in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Stephen Memorial Fund.
The Miller Family Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
