McKenzie, Howard S.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Howard S. McKenzie, 90, a resident of Menno-Haven in Chambersburg, and formerly of Marion, Pa., died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Nov. 6, 1906, in Marion, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Ella Sellers McKenzie.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie M. Statler McKenzie, on May 24, 1976.

He retired after 40 years of service from Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown. He was a farmer earlier in life.

He was a life-long member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church near Marion where he served on the church council.

He was a former member of Marion Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of Jr. O.U.A.M. of Marion.

He is survived by one son, Howard E. McKenzie of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, Chester McKenzie of Chambersburg, Pa.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis S. McKenzie; one sister, Ada Cole; and one brother, Leslie McKenzie.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa. The Rev. Warren Heintzelman will officiate. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Saturday.
