Mehrle, Bettie Lee (nee Fulbright)

Bettie L. Mehrle, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 29, 2009, at her home.

She was born May 30, 1924, to Grover Cleveland and Dona Thaxton Fulbright in Millersville, Mo. She and Kenneth G. Mehrle were married Aug. 30, 1946, in Kansas City, Kan.

She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and its Friendship Circle, was past president of the National Community Pharmacist Association Auxiliary, volunteered at Southeast Hospital, was a Girl Scout leader and member of Women's Golf Association at Cape Country Club. She had lived in Sun City West, Ariz., more than 20 years. Mehrle and her husband were partners in owning Medical Arts Pharmacy. She was an avid bridge player and golfer.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Debbie Kitchen and husband, Darrell, and Jane Koch and husband, Scott, both of Cape Girardeau; threesisters, Jean Niswonger of Cape Girardeau, June Svoboda and husband, George, of Edmond, Okla., Mary Lou Grant and husband, Harold, of Columbia, Mo.; and five grandchildren, Cori J. Nunnally, Megan Koch, Amanda Koch, Racheal Kitchen and Damien Kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Kent Mehrle; a sister, Mildred Luetje; and her husband, Glenn Luetje.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating.

Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be sons-in-law Darrell Kitchen and Scott Koch, grandsonDamien Kitchen, and nephews Donald Luetje, Doug Niswonger and John Mehrle.
