Meyer, Annabelle (nee Fry)

Annabelle Meyer, 89, of Cape Girardeau, went to heaven Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, just 19 days before her 90th birthday. She passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Annabelle was a devoted wife and mother who lived her entire life for her family. She and John were happily married for 53 years. She was a kind and gentle soul who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Her influence will live on through her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed. She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 28, 1921, in Nugent, Texas, to George Franklin and Ana Ona Kerns Fry.

She and John Philip Meyer were married July 27, 1957, at Van Nuys, Calif.

Loving survivors include her husband, John Meyer of Cape Girardeau; her sons, Dr. Roy Meyer (Sande) and Ray Meyer (Christy Allen) of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, John Fry of Klamoth Falls, Ore., and Bernie Fry of Edmonds, Wash.; sister, Stella McDonald of Tillamook, Ore.; two granddaughters, Tia (Mark) Rademaker of Cape Girardeau and Julie Meyer of Richmond, Ky.; two grandsons, Geoffrey Smith and Gregory Smith of Cape Girardeau; and one great-grandchild, River Roy Smith of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dean Jaggers officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First General Baptist Church, the Salvation Army of Cape Girardeau or Eagles Aerie 3775 in Cape Girardeau.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
