Middleton, John Brown, Jr.
ADVANCE, Mo. -- Brown "Jr." Middleton, 73, of Advance was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014.
He was born Oct. 3, 1941, at Lilbourn, Missouri, son of John Brown and Edith Bell Coffee Middleton Sr. He and Doris Mirly were married Dec. 17, 1961, at Gordonville.
Jr. served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Liberty University. He was executive president of Mirly Trucking Center from 1965 until 2007. He was a certified pilot aviator, certified scuba driver, held a black belt in karate, and was an avid golfer. He was a member of Advance United Methodist Church, Advance Jaycees, and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Middleton of Advance; two sons, Timothy Middleton of Advance and Michael Middleton of Chelsea, Alabama; three brothers, Gary Middleton of Scott City, Brad and Barry Middleton of Advance; a sister, Charlotte Taylor of Dexter, Missouri; and six grandchildren, Brandon, Miranda, Tyler, Logan, Tanner and Alicia Middleton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Brad Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
