PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Leo C. "Bud" Miget, 86, of Perryville passed away Jan. 25, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Perry County, Mo., son of Leo and Alice Alberta Hager Miget. He and Joan E. Havemann were married Dec. 1, 1951. She survives in Perryville...

A funeral will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2012 for 86-year-old Leo C. "Bud" Miget of Perryville who died January 25, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born February 21, 1926 in Perry County, the son of Leo and Alice Alberta (Hager) Miget who both preceded him in death.

He married Joan E. Havemann on December 1, 1951. She survives in Perryville.

He is survived by four daughters: Cynthia Davis of Vichy, Marcia Miget of San Rafael, California, Susie Miget of West Des Moines, Iowa and Mary Ann "Mimi" Kinnison of Perryville; two sisters: Leola Laws and Lily Meyer both of Perryville, 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters: Luella Miget, Velda Gagnepain, Ruby Meyer and Marguerite "Pete" Young.

Leo was a band director at St. Vincent Schools in Perryville and Valle Catholic Schools in Ste. Genevieve for 20 years.

He was owner/operator of Miget Piano Service in Perryville where he was a piano tuner/technician.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, US Navy WW II Veteran, Knights of Columbus Council 1263, American Legion Post 133 and National Piano Technician Guild.

Leo graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1943. He then attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau for a year and a half, followed by Mid-Western Conservatory of Music in Chicago, Illinois, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Theory and Composition. He then attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois for two years and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Bud was also a jazz pianist and a classical and jazz composer and arranger.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Young & Sons Funeral Home with a Catholic wake at 7 p.m. Monday.

A funeral for 86-year-old Leo C. "Bud" Miget of Perryville will be held at10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. John Gagnepain will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent de Paul School Band or Birthright.
