Miinch, Kathryn (nee Myers)

SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Kathryn M. Miinch, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Sedgewickville.

She was born Jan. 7, 1937, in Cascade, Missouri, daughter of Arley and Opal Pugh Myers. She and Joe Miinch were united in marriage Feb. 21, 1959.

Kathryn was a woman of deep, unwavering faith in the Lord. She cherished time spent with her beloved husband, sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, and she was a loving and Godly influence on them and on her many extended family members and friends. Kathryn was an avid gardener and quilter, and family and friends who visited enjoyed various homemade baked goods that she always had on hand.

She worked for Angelica as a seamstress, Lee Rowan as a wire cutter, Procter & Gamble as a technician and retired from Meadow Heights School as a cook. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, was the Lydia Sunday school outreach coordinator and loved her Sunday school class.

Survivors include her husband, Joe, of the home; sons Dwane (Diane) Miinch of Millersville and Larry (Julie) Miinch of Jackson; daughter-in-law Patti Miinch of St. Charles, Missouri; brothers Don Myers of Fredericktown, Missouri, Harold and Kenny Myers of Marquand, Missouri, and Arley Myers Jr. of High Ridge, Missouri; sisters Betty (Ray) Moyers of Fenton, Missouri, Pearl (Ron) Gipson and Carol Mouser of Scott City and Marilyn Braswell of Patton, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Kari Kitchen, Steve Miinch II, Kami Cheney, Jenna Burr, Jennifer Miinch, Kati Miinch, Mindy Ellis, Tia Miinch and Trae Miinch; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Steve, brother Basil Myers and sister Wanda Myers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Missouri.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes and the Rev. John Chidester officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sedgewickville.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the American Cancer Society.
