Mirgeaux, James John

James John Mirgeaux, 87, of Scott City died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Mo.

He was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Fornfelt, to Joseph and Alice Rozmerski Mirgeaux. He married Valeria G. Ressel on Oct. 18, 1949, in Kelso, Mo.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau. He was a self-employed bricklayer.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jimmy (Terry) Mirgeaux and David (Beverly) Mirgeaux of Scott City; a daughter, Rene Phillips of Scott City; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors.
