Mirly, Jack G.

Jack G. Mirly, 76, of Jackson entered the gates of heaven Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 29, 1937, in Jackson, son of Walter O. and Roxie A. Dickerson Mirly. He was baptized in Jesus Christ as an infant and confirmed March 18, 1951. He and Ruth E. Bodenschatz were married May 9, 1959, in Uniontown, Missouri.

Jack was a dairy farmer west of Jackson most of his life. He also worked for Strack Brothers Construction in the Jackson area several years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where he taught Sunday school and served on various committees.

Loving survivors include his wife of 55 years; four sons, Kirby (Fran) Mirly of St. Louis, Rodney Mirly and Timothy (Lisa) Mirly of Jackson and Alan Mirly of Pocatello, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Robert L. Mirly of Collinsville, Illinois; three sisters, LaVern Ross of Cape Girardeau, Betty Jagels of St. Louis and Carolyn Huter of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church and school or Saxony Lutheran High School.
