PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Mildred C. "Deed" Mitchell, 85, of Perryville died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Perry County Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 2, 1918, in Perryville, daughter of Andrew and Albertine Feltz Kiefer. She and Homer Mitchell were married July 27, 1946, in St. Louis. He died Feb. 21, 1994...

A funeral will be held Thursday, August 12th, 2004 for 85-year-old Mildred C. "Deed" Mitchell of Perryville who died Monday, August 9th at the Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville.

She was born October 2nd, 1918 in Perryville, the daughter of Andrew Kiefer and Albertine Feltz Keifer who both preceded her in death.

She married Homer Mitchell on July 27th, 1946 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Long of Blue Springs; a son, Ron Andrew Mitchell of Edwards, Colorado; a stepdaughter, Valeda Kaestner of Pinellas Park, Florida; a brother, Lloyd Kiefer of Perryville; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Four brothers, Homer "Jim" Kiefner, Lester "Bones" Kiefer, Harvey "Ted" Kiefer, Melvin "Tige" Kiefer and a sister, Gladys Tucker, also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville and the Daughters of Isabella.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, August 11th and 6:30-9:50 a.m. Thursday, August 12th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers at 6 p.m. Wednesday and the Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A funeral for 85-year-old Mildred C. "Deed" Mitchell of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 12th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Parish or Southeast Hospice.
