Montgomery, Alvah Raymond
Alvah Raymond "Buster" Montgomery, 81, of Festus died Dec. 12, 2007. Mr. Montgomery was a retired truck driver and a member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. He was also a World War II vetern of the U.S. Navy.
Born Jan. 9, 1926, in Clubb, Mo., he was the son of the late Roxy Montgomery.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pearl (Statler) Montgomery of Festus; two daughers: Pat (Steve) Golec of De Soto and Janet (Tom) Burns of St. Louis; three grandchildren: Todd Golec, Joseph Burns and Leslie (Gus) Wagner; and three great-grandchildren: Sam Wagner, Kayla Wagner and Grant Wagner.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Ella Montgomery.
Funeral services were held Dec. 14 at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Festus. Burial was in Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorials may be made to Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
