A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 for 75-year-old John E. Moore of Perryville, who died April 7, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born October 8, 1937 in Perry County, the son of Leonard and Edith (Nienhaus) Moore who both preceded him in death.
He married Patricia "Pat" Voelker on July 30, 1960. She survives in Perryville.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons: Terri (Albert) Speach of Lexington, Kentucky, Brenda (Roger) Smith of Cape Girardeau, Chris (Debra) Moore of Springfield, Kurt Moore of O’Fallen, and Gwen (Kevin) Schweiss of Perryville; two brothers and two sisters; Tom Moore of Kansas City, Shirley Schleper of Alton, Illinois, Mary Parres of Lake St. Louis and Gene Moore of Westfield, Indiana; nine grandchildren: Sloane Skinner and Byron and Judianne Speach, Hunter and Katelyn Smith, Samuel and Lewis Moore, Paul Ferguson and Presley Schweiss.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Eldon and Jim Moore.
He was a truck driver for UPS.
He was of Christian faith and an American Legion Booster.
He loved farming and spending time with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 and 6:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral for 75-year-old John E. Moore of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Young and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Estes will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred for Mid-America Teen Challenge.
