Mouser-Aufdenberg, Alma (nee Birk)
Alma Mouser-Aufdenberg, 83, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 17, 1923, in the Tilsit community, the daughter of Alvin M. and Amanda Lange Birk. She and Ray W. Mouser were married Aug. 15, 1943, in Pickett, Ark. He passed away July 29, 1993. She and Harold "Red" Aufdenberg were married Jan. 5, 2002, in Jackson.
Alma graduated from Jackson High School in 1942. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit, transferring her membership to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson in 1953.
She worked in the fitting room at the former International Shoe Factory in Jackson, retiring after 30 years.
Loving survivors include her husband, "Red"; two daughters, Karen Ebenstein of Jackson and Susanna (Matthew) Randolph of Jackson; three grandchildren, Jennifer Friedrich of St. Mary, James Noah of Jackson and Christina Noah of Advance; two great-grandsons, Gabe Noah and Jamie Noah; two stepdaughters, Joyce (Tim) Neal of Cape Girardeau and Jane (Kevin) Reisenbichler of Altenburg; three step-grandchildren, Matt and Sara Neal and Adam Reisenbichler.
Also surviving is a brother, Nelson (Mary) Birk of Fredericktown, Mo.; three sisters, Hulda Sievers of Jackson, Laura Nagel of Cape Girardeau and Vera Allen of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Mouser in 1966, two brothers, Alfred and Gerhard Birk, and two sisters, Vanita Spooler and Elverda Allen.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Revs. Robert Henrichs and Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
