Mungle, Kent Carl

PATTON, Mo. -- Kent Carl Mungle, 92, of Patton passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at his home.

He was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Patton, son of James I. and Laura C. Yount Mungle.

Kent belonged to Reagan's Chapel Quartet in his younger years.

He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945, and in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1968, retiring as a TGST.

Kent then entered into civilian service 19 years at the Air Force Academy. He was a member of the Air Force Welfare Association, and was of the Methodist belief.

Survivors include a brother, Glen (Anna Lee) Mungle of Troy, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Germaine Mungle of Patton; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arthur, Lester and Claude Mungle; four sisters, Mattie Heitman, Edna Reagan, Nola Henry and Nancy Heitman.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Kent Wilfong and Karla Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery near Patton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Patton Cemetery or the Wounded Warriors Project.
