PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Luella F. Wibbenmeyer Musso, 92, of Perryville died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Independence Care Center.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Miller Family Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Brentwood, Mo. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, October 30th, 2010 for 92-year-old Luella Frances (Wibbenmeyer) Musso of Perryville who died Thursday, October 14th, 2010.

She was born January 28th, 1918 on her family’s farm located in the surrounds of Apple Creek, Perry County.

She was the eldest daughter of the Theodore Francis and Louisa Elizabeth (Meyer) Wibbenmeyer who both preceded her in death.

She married Anthony C. "Tony" Musso in Brentwood on September 5th, 1948. He preceded her in death on December 11th, 1967.

She is survived by two sons: Dave (Lyn) Musso of Honolulu, Hawaii and Joe Musso of St. Louis; two daughters: Brenda Woggon of Santa Paula, California and Frances (Robert) Copp of Placerville, California; four granddaughters: Stephanie, Rachel and Allison Copp of Placerville, California and Krizyel Gomez and Kyla Musso of Honolulu, Hawaii. She is also survived by a daughter: Flora Jansen of Florissant and a brother: Tom Wibbenmeyer of Perryville.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Mary Ellen Musso; three brothers: Rudy, Bill and Joe and two sisters: Anna and Bertha Wibbenmeyer.

After attending St. Joseph Catholic School at Apple Creek, she assisted her family on the farm and worked for various families in the community. When Luella was 18, she and her sister Flora gained employment in St. Louis, continuing to help her family financially through the depression.

In 1944, Luella put herself through beauty school in St. Louis and was a successful, licensed cosmetologist for most of her adult life.

Luella was devoted to God, Christianity, her husband, children, grandchildren and her family of origin. She was a great mother, a remarkable homemaker, an accomplished cook and seamstress.

Luella was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Brentwood, MO; later, a member of Perryville’s St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and their Daughters of Isabella.

Luella will be remembered as an energetic, strong woman; willing to share her love, humor, talents and strength. She raised five children on her own after the loss of her husband and instilled in them the value of being self-sufficient and of obtaining a good education; all attended college. Luella’s presence will be missed; however, her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 29th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, October 30th at Mary Magdalen Church in Brentwood

A funeral mass for 92-year-old Luella Frances (Wibbenmeyer) Musso of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 30th at the Mary Magdalen Church in Brentwood. The Rev. Jack Siefert will officiate.

Family Burial will be on All Saints Day, Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials are requested to Masses.
