Myers, Willard D.

Willard D. "Bill" Myers, 93, formerly of Jackson, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 9, 1915, son of Marion and Addie Dickman Myers, at Old Appleton, Mo. He and Wilma Biri were married Sep. 25, 1940, in Benton, Mo.

The couple moved to Saxony Village at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau in 2004 after residing more than 60 years in Jackson.

Prior to his retirement he worked more than 32 years at Lenco Inc. in Jackson.

Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Myers of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Virgie (Nelson) Jenkins of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Peggy (Marvin) Sneller of Roselle, Ill.; and a son, the Rev. Larry Myers of New Berlin, Wis.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brent (Cindy) Sneller of Roselle, Beth (Mark) Earnest of Hartland, Wis., Christoph Myers of New Berlin; and three great-grandchildren, Madelyn Sneller, Ashley Sneller and Tyler Earnest.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

The funeral will follow at the church at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church Radio Broadcast.

"For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!" (Job 19:25-27—ESV)
