Neely, Anna Marie (nee Elfrink)
Anna Marie Neely, 80, of Jackson passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Monticello House.
She was born Nov. 8, 1933, in Leopold, Mo., daughter of Anthony and Gertrude Tenholder Elfrink. She married Clifton D. Neely on Dec. 4, 1971, and he passed away in
1979.
Anna graduated from the former St. Mary's High School in Cape Girardeau. She worked for Pet Foods in St. Louis and later transferred to Old El Paso Foods in El Paso, Texas. In 1994, she moved back to Jackson.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, where she did numerous volunteer jobs throughout the years. She was a member of St. Ann's Sodality and was an avid Cardinals baseball fan.
Loving survivors include a brother, Anthony (Rose Mary) Elfrink of Cahokia, Ill.; four sisters-in-law, Martha Elfrink of Cape Girardeau, Virginia Elfrink of Leopold, Judy Elfrink of Jackson and Marilyn Elfrink of Dupo, Ill.; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Virgil, Walter, David and Gerald.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Revs. John Harth and Robert Landewe concelebrating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Seminarian and Diocesan Retired Clergy Fund of Springfield/Cape Girardeau or the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
