Neislein, Waldo C.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Waldo C. Neislein, 87, of Rockwood, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Chester Memorial Hospital in Chester, Ill.

He was born Oct. 4, 1916 at Friedheim, Mo., son of Franklin and Matilda Tuschhoff Neislein. He and Rosilda Roth were married March 12, 1942. She died Nov. 16, 1992.

Neislein was a retired farmer and security aide at Chester Mental Health Center. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Chester.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin Neislein of Chester, Calvin Neislein of Fenton, Mo., and Richard Neislein of Rockwood; a brother, Wilbert Neislein of Perryville; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and Monday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Martin Springer officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.

Funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 for 87-year-old Waldo C. Neislein of Rockwood, Ill who died Friday, Nov. 28 at Chester Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Oct. 4, 1916 in Friedheim, the son of the late Franklin Benjamin and Matilda Hanna (Tuschhoff) Nieslein.

He was married to Rosilda b. Roth on March 12, 1942. She preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 1992.

Three sons and daughters-in-law survive: Melvin and Edna Neislein of Chester, Ill.; Calvin and Anne Neislein of Fenton; and Richard and Marilyn Neislein of Rockwood, Ill.

One brother, Wilbert Neislein, survives in Perryville.

Five grandchildren survive, Sherry Bohnert, Lynette Colvin, Tricia Friess, Chris Lingle and Stephanie Schicker.

Thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.

One infant son, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 30 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will continue on Monday, Dec. 1 from 6:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Funeral service for Waldo C. Neislein will be held Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Martin Springer will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorial preference is to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Christ Lutheran High in Evansville, Ill.
