A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 8th, for 59-year-old Lonnie W. "Silver" Newell of Perryville who died Monday at his home.

He was born March 4, 1940 in Silver Lake, the son of Manford R. Newell who preceded in death and Rita (Gibbar) Ruch survives in Perryville.

He married Carol A. Berkbuegler on May 25th, 1991 in Perryville. She survives in Perryville.

Two daughters also survive him: Susan M. Stelling of Frohna and Sharon E. Hartels of Orlando, Florida.

Three sons survive: Bob G. Newell of Ste. Genevieve and David L. Newell and Allen J. Newell, both of Perryville.

Two brothers survive: Donald M. Newell of Little Rock, Ark. and Richard Ruch of Perryville.

Eight grandchildren also survive him.

He had been a self-employed plasterer and was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake, VFW booster and a member of the Eagles of Perryville.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. this afternoon and evening and from 6:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.

A parish wake will be held at 7 this evening and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A funeral mass for 59-year-old Lonnie W. "Silver" Newell of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. John Gagnepain C.M. will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
