Niblack, Benedict Milas

Benedict Milas Niblack died at his home 8 miles west of Jackson on Sunday morning at 7:15 from hardening of the arteries after a lingering illness of several months.

Uncle Dick, as he was generally addressed was a member of the pioneer families of this community. He was born and reared on what is now the Daley farm within the city limits of Jackson.

He was a son of Milas Niblack and Louisa Knott Niblack. During his early manhood he served as a helper and associate with his father in the milling business. On June 29, 1873 he was married to Arminta Rose, who survives him. Mr. Niblack was a hard working man and because of his unquestioned honesty and high sense of honor he was respected by all who knew him.

He leaves in addition to his widow, seven daughters and one son, John Niblack, living near Burfordville, Mo. Mrs. Jack Howard of Pocahontas, Ark., Mrs. Luther Proffer, Mrs. Curtis Heimbaugh, Mrs. Alvin Wagner all of Jackson, Elizabeth who resides at home and Mary who is a telephone operator at Jackson. One brother and one sister also survive; Joe Niblack who lives near Jackson and Lilly Baugh of Sikeston.

The funeral services were held at the family residence Monday afternoon with burial in the Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
