Niblack, Roy Eugene

Jackson - Gene Niblack of Jackson, died Monday night at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was 54 years old.

Mr. Niblack was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Jackson, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Niblack. He served in the Air Force during World War II, and was employed as a lineman for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 28 years.

On Nov. 25, 1960, he was married to Mrs. Pat Penny.

Mr. Niblack was a lifelong member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of American, Communication Workers of America, and American Legion Altenthal-Joerns Post 158, here. He also served as a board member of Southeast Telephone Employees Credit Union.

Surviving are his wife; three stepsons, Terry Penny, Jackson, David Penny, Cape Girardeau, and Allyn Penny of the family home; a step-daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Sides, Jackson; one brother, Paul Niblack, Jackson; a sister, Miss Marguerite Niblack, Jackson; and two stepgranddaughters.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Phillip Niblack of Festus, officiating. Burial is to be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Pallbearers are to be Charles Ramsey, John Dickerson, Merril Heise, Henry Volkerding, Rodney Eddleman, and John Yallaly.
