Niswonger, Dallas E.

Dallas E. Niswonger, age 77, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 4, 1928, in Jackson, son of Harlan W. and Marie Turner Niswonger. He and Juanita Criddle were married July 2, 1951, in Oak Ridge. She survives.

Dallas worked at the former International Shoe Factory in Jackson from 1945 – 1965, was a car salesman for many years in Jackson and Cape Girardeau, and retired from Procter and Gamble Paper Products in 1991.

He enjoyed collecting antiques, and was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include his wife of 55 years; three sons, Lynn (Janie) Niswonger of Ocala, Florida, Don (Judy) Niswonger of Jackson, Robert (Julie) Niswonger of Bristow, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Laura (Brian) Arthur, Amy (Rich) Lucy, Nicole Parker, Michelle Downey, and David, Geoffrey, and Jared Niswonger; four great-grandchildren, Dayna Arthur, Devyn, Railyn and Madisyn Lucy; and a sister, Doris McMillan of Jackson.

Friends may call Saturday, July 29, between 4-8 PM, at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and after 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 30 at the First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, at 2:00 PM at the Church with Rev. Carter Frey officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice, or Niswonger Church Cemetery Fund.
