Niswonger, Franklin Eugene

Franklin Eugene "Frank" Niswonger, 71, of Jackson died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at his home.

He was born July 12, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, son of Freeman Dewey and Ruby Ludreth Henry Niswonger. He and Mildred Martin were married May 13, 1987. She died Dec. 10, 2004.

Mr. Niswonger worked at Knollcrest Orchard, and then was an assembly line worker at LeeRowan Co. in Jackson.

He was a private first class in the U.S. Army, serving from December 1957 to March 1963.

Survivors include two sons, Ricky (Patty) Niswonger of Atoka, Tenn., Tommy (Vicky) Niswonger of St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter, Stacy Niswonger of Benton, Mo.; five stepdaughters, Peggy (Kenneth) Borgfield of Jackson, Paulette (Garry) Stone Sr. of Jackson, Carol Garrett of St. Louis, Jo Ella Greive of New Athens, Ill., Bonnie (Larry) Wiseman of Waterloo, Ill.; a brother, Norman Niswonger of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Viola Riehn of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; 29 great-stepgrandchildren; and five great-great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond; a stepgranddaughter, Cindy Jo Borgfield; and a great-stepgranddaughter, MaKenna Stone.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Craig Petzoldt officiating. Burial will be in Sargent's Chapel Cemetery at Sedgewickville, Mo., with full military honors to be conducted.

Pallbearers will be Tony Stone, Garry Stone Jr., Tim Stone, Jeff Stone, Dustin Niswonger, Mike Niswonger and Kevin Welker.
