Niswonger, Mary Ellen (nee Herbert)
Mary Ellen Niswonger, 85, of Sedgewickville, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Festus, Missouri, daughter of Charles Wesley and Florence Craig Herbert.
She and Floyd Henry Niswonger were married Aug. 23, 1947, at Patton, Missouri, and he passed away April 13, 2007.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church, Methodist women's group and Patton Square Dancing, and she made prayer shawls.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara J. Holton of Seabrook, Texas, Velma McDonald of St. Louis and Rosemary Muse of Sedgewickville; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; a son, Floyd Niswonger Jr.; two sisters, Martha Dunker and Elizabeth Willoughby; a grandson, Gabriel Muse; and a great-grandson, Brandon Blankenship.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Missouri.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Pam Ekey officiating.
Burial will follow at the Sedgewickville Lutheran Cemetery.
