Oberndorfer, Marvin Theodore

ST. LOUIS -- Marvin Theodore Oberndorfer, 89, of St. Louis died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Christian Care Home in St. Louis.

He was born May 17, 1923, in Frohna, Mo., son of William and Elsie Grebing Oberndorfer. He and Dorothy Dambach were married Oct. 24, 1948. She preceded him in death May 8, 2011.

Oberndorfer had been a truck driver. He was a member of Teamsters Local 600.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include four sons, Roy (Diane) Oberndorfer, Roger Oberndorfer, Terry Oberndorfer, all of St. Louis, David (Gloria) Oberndorfer of St. Peters, Mo.; a brother, Harry (Ann) Oberndorfer of Frohna; five grandchildren, Roy (Kayleigh) Oberndorfer Jr., Jared Oberndorfer, Brandon Oberndorfer, Tyler Sills, Lauren Sills; a great-grandson, Christien Alan Oberndorfer; cousins; nieces; nephews; brother-in-law; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Peggy Fiedler and Emma White; and two brothers, Harold and Edwin Oberndorfer.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Rod Benkendorf officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna or Heartland Hospice.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 for 89-year-old Marvin Oberndorfer of St. Louis, who died Sunday, September 16th, 2012 at the Christian Care Home in St. Louis.

He was born May 17th, 1923 in Frohna, son of William and Elsie (Grebing) Oberndorfer. They preceded him in death.

He married Dorothy Dambach October 24th, 1948. She preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 9-10:50 a.m. Wednesday, September 19th at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna.

A funeral for Marvin Oberndorfer of St. Louis will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 at the Concordia Lutheran Church. The Rev. Rod Benkendorf will officiate.
