Oberndorfer, Theophil

UNIONTOWN, Mo. -- Theophil Oberndorfer, 91, of Uniontown died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 15,1915, at Uniontown, son of Benjamin and Bertha Kramer Oberndorfer. He and Lunette Popp were married Dec. 25, 1939, at Friedenburg, Mo. She died Nov. 26, 1969. He later married Erma Kranawetter.

Oberndorfer worked at Frohna Machine Shop in Frohna and Perryville, Mo., from 1934 to 1955. He then owned and operated Oberndorfer Repair Shop in Uniontown until retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, had served as an elder and treasurer of the church, and was a member of the Lions Club.

Survivors include a son, Larry Oberndorfer of Hazelwood, Mo.; a daughter, Sharon Cornelius of New Mexico; two sisters, Norma Hacker and Paula Kassel of Perryville.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to service time Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Young and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
