Ochs, Ewald Harry

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ewald H. Ochs, 95, of Perryville died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside honors provided by American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.

Ewald H. Ochs of Perryville, MO died September 16, 2010 at Independence Care Center of Perry County. He was 95.

He was born in Point Rest, MO on March 16, 1915 son of the late John and Anna (Stuebinger) Ochs. He and Lilly A. Miesner were married on August 16, 1943. She survives in Perryville, MO.

Other survivors include two daughters and one son; Carolyn (Martin) Mack of Rochester, MN., Dennis (Conni) Ochs of St. Louis, MO., Eunice (Martin) Clifton of Lawrence, KS, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Leonard, Emil, Rudolph, and Paul Ochs, two sisters; Sophia Laupp and Hattie Schulz.

Mr. Ochs was a Registered Land Surveyor. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Army WW II Veteran and a graduate of Rankin Technical College in St. Louis.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm and on Saturday from 6:30 - 8:00 am. He will then be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church for service at 10:00 am with Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors provided by American Legion Post 133 & Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred for Immanuel Lutheran Church or Hospice Care, Inc.

Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
