Oldham, Elizabeth Rozella (nee Kinder)

Elizabeth Rozella Oldham, 86, of Carrollton, Texas, formerly of Burfordville, found peace and rest in the loving arms of our Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010. She passed away at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas, from complications due to pneumonia.

She was born June 21, 1924, at Burfordville, daughter of the late Troy R. and Dottie Kennison Kinder. She and Earl H. Oldham were married May 18, 1946. He passed away Sept. 18, 2006.

After attending college, Elizabeth taught school at Burfordville and later at Hickory Grove. After teaching, she became the librarian on a Bookmobile service provided by Riverside Regional Library. At that time, her husband was hired to drive the Bookmobile. When that service was ended, she continued working at the library until she and her husband retired in 1985.

In 1990, Elizabeth and Earl moved to The Colony, Texas, to be near their only daughter and her family.

Elizabeth was a member of First United Methodist Church of The Colony at the time of her death.

Survivors include a daughter, Vicki (Ron) Fluegge of The Colony; two granddaughters, Traci (David) Denny and Jennifer (Martin) Jurek; and a great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Brooke Denny.

Preceding her in death and welcoming her to her heavenly home is her husband, and a brother, Troy E. Kinder (Jan. 14, 1984).

Graveside service will be hat 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
